Hi, we’re starting a series of articles named “Top 5ive”… and well, let’s start with the most expensive cars in the world… Check out the list below… supercars with a price of over 3 million dollars.
5IVE: PAGANI ZONDA REVOLUCIÓN
The Pagani Zonda Revolución is a special edition limited to just 5 units and this copy that you can see above is the #5 presented at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The Pagani Zonda Revolución, besides being limited, is a non-street legal supercar… yeah, it can run on tracks only, it was created for this, seeing its insane body you can notice.
The last Zonda, as I said, uses an insane body, for performance and more performance on tracks… The Pagani Zonda Revolución is powered by a 6.2-liter Mercedes-Benz AMG V12 engine. With a dry weight of 1070 kg (2358lbs) and an output of 800hp, the Revolución reaches over 217mph (350km/h) at its top speed.
The Pagani Zonda Revolución is insane of course, but it is not on this list for its insane body or performance, on the contrary, it is here for its insane price… 2.2 million euros. At current rates is about 3.03 million dollars.
5IVE: BUGATTI VEYRON VITESSE LEGEND EDITIONS
The Bugatti Veyron Vitesse “Les Legendes de Bugatti” or Legends of Bugatti are special editions to pay tribute to legends in the Bugatti history… The “Legend editions” pay tribute to 6 people, and each one is limited in just 3 cars, with a total of 18.
So far 4 of six legends were released: Jean-Pierre wimille, Jean Bugatti, Meo Costantini and Rembrandt Bugatti… As the four cars mentioned have already been sold out, the next will appear at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show and it will pay tribute to Elizabeth Junek (or not), the sixth and last is unknown at this moment.
The Legends of Bugatti are based on Bugatti Veyron Vitesse, so they are powered by an 8.0-liter W18 engine of 1200hp with a top speed of 254mph (410 km/h) [ the Bugatti Veyron Vitesse has its top speed limited to 233mph – 375km/h] and sprint from zero to 62mph ( 100km/h) in 2.6 seconds.
As you see, the Bugatti Veyron Vitesse Legends Edition holds the fifth position like the Zonda Revolución, so they have the same price… The Legend Editions were sold at 2.2 million euros (3.03 million dollars).
4OUR: LYKAN HYPERSPORT
The first Arabian supercar created by W motors… The Lykan HyperSport had its official presentation at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show and is limited to just seven units.
Powered by a 3.7 flat-six engine with 740 bhp (552 kW; 750 PS), the Lykan reaches a top speed of 240 mph (386.2 km/h) and sprints from 0-62 in 2.8 seconds.
The Lykan Hypersport has a price of 3.4 million dollars… the arguments for this insane price are… well, in addition to the immense power under the hood, the front lights are made of titanium LED blades with 420 diamonds (15cts).
3HREE: LAMBORGHINI VENENO
The special edition based on Lamborghini Aventador and does not look anything like it… this is the Lamborghini Veneno.
The Lamborghini Veneno was unveiled at a gala dinner during the Lamborghini Grand Tour, a special edition to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Raging Bull brand.
The Veneno is limited to just three units with an insane visual and an upgraded V12 engine developing 750hp to reach 220mph (355km/h) and to accelerate from 0-62 in 2.9 seconds.
The three units have three different trim colors based on the Italian flag… red, green and white. The Lamborghini Veneno was sold for 3.1 million euros, it means 4.28 million dollars at current rates.
2OW: LAMBORGHINI VENENO ROADSTER
With the success of the Lamborghini Veneno, Lamborghini released an open top version of it… The Veneno Roadster was unveiled on an aircraft carrier at Mina Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi.
The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster promises the same performance of the hardtop version, even without a roof ( Yes, Veneno Roadster doesn’t have a roof )… Unlike the Veneno coupé, the Roadster is limited to 9 units, and as usual, the roadster is more expensive than the coupé… The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster price is 3.3 million euros or just 4.55 million dollars.
1NE: KOENIGSEGG TREVITA
The Koenigsegg Trevita is a limited edition based on Koenigsegg CCXR Edition featuring a diamond weave carbon fiber finish and also diamond-shaped wheels. The Trevita means three whites and is limited to just three units.
The Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita is powered by a 4.8-liter V8 twin turbocharged engine with a power of 1018 horses at 7000rpm able to exceed 249mph (400km/h) at its top speed and hit 62mph in 2.9 seconds.
The price of the Koenigsegg Trevita is 3.4 million euros, about 4.69 million dollars at current rates. And now you know why this beast heads the list of the most expensive cars in the world.
Actually the world’s most expensive car is the Maybach Exelero with a price of 8 million dollars (excluding those sold in auctions), and although the list above isn’t just of production cars, the Maybach Exelero is a one-off vehicle, there is just 1 of it… maybe I do a top 5ive with the most expensive one-off cars soon, but this time I took into consideration supercars with 3 or more units.
