During the 2014 Los Angeles Motor Show Audi presented another road-legal track-inspired R8 called of Audi R8 Competition. The V10-powered Audi R8 is said to be the most powerful Audi production vehicle to date and, the closest road-car Audi that a customer can get to the successful Audi R8 LMS race car.
The car is a racecar inspired and, the Audi wants to take the performance on tracks to the roads, so, the Audi R8 Competition boasts a sprint from 0-60 ( 0-97 km/h ) in 3.2 seconds and top speed of 199 mph ( 320 km/h ). A reasonable improvement in performance when we compare this one with the 2010/2013 Audi R8 GT which does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, 0.4 seconds slower than the Audi R8 Competition, but, on the other hand, the top speed is similar, both with 199 mph.
As the R8 GT, the Audi R8 Competition boasts a look with exposed lightweight carbon fiber including front lip, winglets, side sills, mirror housing, engine bay, side blades, rear diffuser and the fixed rear wing. The black interior has red seam and it’s finished in clear carbon fiber.
The 2015 Audi R8 Competition is limited in just 60 units and exclusively to US dealerships. Customers can begin ordering the R8 Competition in november, with deliveries expected to the beginning of 2015.
