Ferrari presented to the world its newest open-top supercar during Mondial de l’Automobile 2014 in Paris… The Ferrari 458 Speciale A.
A as in Aperta
Ferrari 458 Speciale is an extreme model based on 458 Italia, with an aggressive design and awesome performance the Ferrari 458 Speciale is more one success of the Italian automaker. With a successful coupe, naturally, a convertible version would emerge. Voilà, at this Paris Motor Show the convertible version emerged, named Aperta, well, you probably were hoping for a name like ‘Ferrari 458 Speciale Spider’ but Ferrari decided to name its supercar as Ferrari 458 Speciale A, A as in Aperta, Aperta means Open in Italian.
The Ferrari 458 Speciale A has a performance similar to the coupe, Aperta is moved by the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ( the same of the coupe ) delivering 597 horsepower and with a sprint from 0-62mph ( 0-100km/h ) in just 3.0 seconds, making this one the most powerful spiders in Ferrari history.
The Ferrari 458 Speciale A has a great performance, which makes possible the open-top prancing horse complete a Fiorano lap in just 1 minute 23 seconds, equal the coupe, over again.
Speciale A is practically equal the coupe version but the convertible is 50 kg (110.2lb) heavier than Ferrari 458 Speciale Coupe and, of course, Speciale A has a retractable hard top (RHT) which retracts and deploys in just 14 seconds.
The exquisite interior is finished in blue carbon fiber and Alcantara with details yellow in the seats… The exemplary displayed in Paris, as well as in the divulgation images, has a lively yellow with a central stripe in Blu NART, an homage to Luigi Chinetti’s legendary American racing team which won many endurance classics in the 1960s in Ferraris.
Another particularity is, unlike coupe, the convertible is a limited series with just 499 units ( the same number of LaFerrari copies being produced ) available for the Ferrari lovers that want one Speciale A in your garage or in your collection.
