With 2015 Geneva Motor Show coming, more and more details about the new Audi R8 comes to light. After the teaser image released some days ago, Audi has released a video with its new machine being tested on track — highly camouflaged, of course.
In addition to the video, Audi has confirmed some specs for the upcoming Audi R8.
According to Heinz Hollerweger, the chief of Audi’s quattro performance division (responsible for Audi’s RS cars and R8, as well) said that the R8’s second-generation uses more carbon fiber and it has an approximately curb-weight of 3,200 pounds (1451 kg).
The new Audi R8 is going to Geneva with a 5.2-liter V10 engine delivering 601 horsepower (metric) and 413 ft-lbw (560 Nm) , the same used by Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4. And the V8-option? Well, a V8-option will come later, along with an all electric e-tron variant and, possibly, a new hybrid variant. The only transmission for the new R8 is a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch unit.
