February 3rd, 2015, Ferrari unveiled the 458 Italia-replacement boasting a V8 turbo engine and designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre… This is the brand new Ferrari 488 GTB.
Ferrari 488 GTB is powered by a new 3.9-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine able to deliver 670 hp (492 kW) at 8000 rpm and maximum torque of 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) at 3000 rpm. Well, it means 65 hp and 220 Nm more powerful than the 458 Speciale. The increased power combined with a 1370 kg (3020 lbs) allows the 488 GTB accelerate from 0-62 in just 3.0 seconds, identical to Speciale, while the sprint from 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) it’s reached in amazing 8.3 seconds (almost 1 second faster than the Speciale).
Increased power allied with aerodynamic improvements, the brand new Ferrari 488 GTB is able to reach over 205 mph (330 km/h) at its top speed… and lap the Fiorano track in 1m23s, a half seconds quicker than the Ferrari Speciale
The Ferrari 488 GTB uses 7-speed gearbox featuring Variable Torque Management which unleashes the engine’s massive torque smoothly and powerfully right across the rev range while specific gear ratios deliver incredibly progressive acceleration when the driver floors the throttle.
Yeah, the performance really thrills, but the look I have no certain… The Ferrari 488 GTB has a new front end, the large side air intakes scallop divided into two sections by splitter is a nod to the original 308 GTB, tailpipes were repositioned, the rear diffuser also receives active flaps and LEDs. The tail lights have also been redesigned.
The Ferrari 488 GTB made its world debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
