German manufacturer, Audi AG, presents the second generation of its R8 sports car at this Geneva International Motor Show.
Not all-new, but with new forms, the 2016 Audi R8 basically features a redesigned front and rear bumper. The new R8 has trapezoidal front grille remembering other models of the brand, new front air intakes with vertical splitters as well as new LED headlights.
The famous side blade was removed, instead the R8 has large side intakes with carbon fiber trim. At the rear, we see dual exhaust pipes and a new rear diffuser, while the air vents with a pair of splitters complete the rear… the V10-plus form also comes with a rear wing.
The 2016 Audi R8 is available just as a V10 model, while its base form is able to deliver 540 horsepower, the V10-plus develops 610 horsepower and 560 Nm at 6.500 rpm of maximum torque. The result is a sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62mph) in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph).
This R8 uses a 7-speed S tronic gearbox and a newly developed Quattro System transfer the power and torque to the asphalt, which in extreme cases can send 100 percent of traction to the front or rear axle.
