If you were looking forward to see what Porsche had prepared for this Geneva Motor Show… Take a look at the brand new Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
As you can notice, the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a variation, or rather, a 911 GT3 improved. RS comes with a 4.0-liter flat-six engine developing 500 hp and 338 lb-ft of torque, combined with a specially developed PDK transmission. The engine has the largest displacement and most power of any naturally aspirated engine with direct fuel injection in the 911 family. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS takes just 3.1 seconds to move from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) and 11.2 seconds to complete a quarter mile.
Around 22 pounds (10 kilograms) lighter than the 911 GT3, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS has an intelligent lightweight design using –for the first time– the roof made of magnesium, carbon fiber used for the engine and luggage compartment lids… and other components are made of weight saving materials as well.
Inside of the 911 GT3 RS we can find Alcantara elements based on the current 911 GT3 and full bucket seats, which are based on the carbon bucket seats from the 918 Spyder.
The 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS will launch in the U.S. in early July of 2015 with a base price of $175,900.
