2015 Geneva Motor Show: Koenigsegg Regera

In addition to the Agera R’s successor, Agera RS, Koenigsegg presents us an all-new and very extreme piece… The hybrid mega car Koenigsegg Regera.

Equivalent to “to reign” in Swedish, Regera comes to be the fastest accelerating, most powerful production car ever — according to the brand — and a unique combination of power, responsiveness and luxury never seen before.

The Koenigsegg Regera, as its brother Agera RS, is also a limited production run handcrafted in only 80 copies. The number 80 was not chosen by chance, it symbolizes the principle of domination, control, and achievement in Pythagorean Numerology.

The Regera mega car boasts three electric motors — The three electric motors constitute the most powerful electrical motor set-up in production car history, replacing the gears of a normal transmission while adding; power, torque, torque vectoring and yet still able to remove weight. — and a 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine… together, they generate an awesome amount of power; over 1500 bhp (or 1.11 MW) –the total power is around of 1800 hp–and over 2000 Nm of torque. With a dry weight of 1420 kg (3130 lbs) and curb weight of 1628 kg (3589 lbs) including all liquids and full fuel tank, Koenigsegg Regera says to be able to reach 400 km/h (248 mph) in less than 20 seconds and to accelerate between 150 to 250 km/h (93-155 mph) in just 3.2 seconds.

To provide more comfort inside, Koenigsegg Regera is made of leather, the seats are completely electric adjustable and Apple Carplay creates entertainment.

The Koenigsegg Regera is not a race-like road legal car as other Koenigseggs and was built with focus on luxury and comfort, but it can still perform competitively around a race circuit — and according to Koenigsegg, only another Koenigsegg could be faster than the Regera around a circuit.
