Unveiled during the 2014 Monterey Car Week at Pebble Beach, The McLaren P1 GTR makes appearance at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show with its production form.
The McLaren P1 GTR Production Form was introduced using the yellow and green livery based on McLaren F1 GTR #06R.
The track-focused McLaren P1 GTR boasts a motorsport-optimized 3.8-liter V8 engine and a lightweight electric motor which together generate a total of 1000PS ( 986 bhp ), an increase of 83 hp compared with the road going vehicle… and thanks to the massive use of carbon fiber the McLaren P1 GTR has 50 kg (110 lbs) less compared with the street-legal P1.
McLaren P1 GTR is 83 millimeters wider and 50 millimeter lower to increase the handling on track. The track-focused hybrid still has an aggressive GT-style front splitter, canards, new rear diffuser and a monster rear wing which creates 10 percent more downforce. The spoiler creates 660 kilograms of downforce at speeds over 200 km/h (124 mph).
The obscene rear bumper boasts a completely new center mounted exhaust pipes. The system maximizes the aural characteristic of the higher output 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 engine to maintain, and further emphasizes, the McLaren sound.
