On March 3rd, 2015, Bugatti presented the last copy of its stunning and unique model, the Bugatti Veyron Vitesse La Finale. This one-off edition is inspired by the very first one presented in 2005 and sold for $1.815 million at Monterey Auction.
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4, chassis #001, is the purest form of Veyron with its 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine and 1001 hp delivered to all wheels. Of course, although the very first Veyron is unique its price does not come close to how much the last one was sold (around €2.3 million), but the figure was right in line with the original estimates, which ranged between $1.8 million and $2.4 million.
Apart from the very first Veyron, another French hypercar was sold during the RM Auctions at Monterey. A Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the last of the 300 coupés built, sold for $2.31 million.
The most expensive cars sold during the event were a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM for $17.6 million, a McLaren F1 upgraded to LM spec for $13.75 million and the final Ferrari Enzo, #400, sold for $6.05 million.
