After some teasers, Bugatti has finally revealed its Vision Gran Turismo Concept car, which is coming at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
As you can notice, this concept is, yet, based on the Veyron design, but of course infinitely more insane.
“In the Bugatti Veyron, we have developed a super sports car which unites two characteristics, the beauty and the beast. The Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo embodies the performance beast. It has a more radical and extreme style. This is a thorough-bred Bugatti for the virtual race track, not for the street.” Achim Anscheidt, the head of Bugatti Design.
“The Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo embodies the performance beast”
To create the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo, Bugatti design team drew inspiration from the brand’s successful racing tradition. More specifically, it is inspired by the Bugatti Type 57 Tank, which won the 24-hour Le Mans race in 1937 and 1939.
This concept, as most Veyrons out there, has a two-tone finish. This one specifically evoking the colours of the historical French race cars.
The Design is insane, as I said, it keeps some lines of the Veyron, so we can see the horseshoe front grille benchmark of the French automaker.
In addition, we can see a huge front splitter, canards mounted on the front bumper and massive air intakes. The headlights have been replaced by four separated LED lights on each side and the bonnet now features enormous vents.
“We hope that the gamers will have just as much fun racing the car as we did in developing it.”
At the rear, we can see a completely new bumper featuring new diffuser, a “line” as the taillight and a new quad exhaust pipes positioned at the center. The Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept has a huge wing and a detail coming from the 1936 Type 57 Atlantic, yeah, the center fin going from the roof to the wing.
“We wanted to develop a virtual race car for our fans which is a genuine Bugatti down to the last detail and radiates the unrestricted values of the brand,” the designers said. “We hope that the gamers will have just as much fun racing the car as we did in developing it.”
The interior is designed to meet racing requirements. All indicators, displays and controls are located where a race-car driver expects them – easy to read and easy to reach.
Bugatti did not reveal anything about the heart of this beast, but probably it is using the 8.0L W16 engine with 1200 hp.
Apart from the virtual concept car which will be available in the Gran Turismo 6, a real-life Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept car will be displayed at IAA Frankfurt from 17–27 September 2015.
