After facing one of its brothers, the McLaren 650S, the amazing black McLaren P1 is back for another clash. Now, the British hybrid hypercar faces a Bugatti Veyron on a straight line.
As you know, the McLaren P1 is powered by a petrol engine (the good old 3.8-liter twin turbo V8) which develops 737hp and an electric motor developing plus 179hp. With a total power of 916 metric horsepower and with a kerb weight of 1,547 kg (3,411 lb), the McLaren P1 achieves the 62 mph barrier in 2.8 seconds, 124 mph (200 km/h) in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h).
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4, as you also know, is powered by the impressive 8.0-liter quad turbo W16 developing, in this case, 1001 hp able to push 1,888 kg (4,162 lb) from zero to 62 in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 253 mph (407 km/h). It completes a quarter-mile in 10.2 seconds (oh, the McLaren P1 covers the same distance in 9.8s).
