Bugatti has just revealed the so waited Veyron’s successor, the Bugatti Chiron.
The Bugatti Chiron comes powered by the 8.0-liter quad turbocharged W16 engine able to develop an amount of 1500 horsepower (1479bhp) at 6,700rpm and a maximum torque of 1600 NM (1180 lb-ft) at 2,000-6,000rpm. The power is taken to all wheels through a seven-speed DSG dual clutch gearbox.
The list of the specs (pre-production vehicle) that you can see in the gallery below does not show the 0-62 sprint, but it is expected to be achieved in less than 2.5 seconds (latest rumors say 2.3 seconds) while the top speed (here, limited) is 261 mph (420 km/h).
For sure Bugatti will launch a special edition of the Chiron without the limitation to overcome the Veyron SuperSport’s world record speed of 268 mph (431 km/h). Just remember, the Bugatti Chiron supposedly can reach a top speed of 286 mph (460km/h). Well, this is not official, but it is well possible.
Another thing, the new Chiron isn’t lighter than the Veyron, it weighs 1995kg (4398lbs ) or 115kg (253lbs) more than its predecessor.
About the design, It is the Bugatti Vision GT without those insane aerodynamic parts, or rather, a refined version of it.
The Bugatti Chiron is limited to only 500 unit, each one with a starting price of $2.6 million. Although the small value, 100 of them have already an owner.
