Following the presentation of its brand new grand tourer, 570GT, at the Geneva Motor Show, McLaren has just introduced two new track-oriented models of its Sports Series. The McLaren 570S GT4 and 570S Sprint.
The McLaren 570S GT4 follows the FIA GT4 standards and is based on the carbon fibre Monocell II chassis such as the other models of the McLaren’s Sports Series.
The GT4 features a new wide body stretched over magnesium alloy wheels and Pirelli slick tyres, with a GT4-spec aero package including a high-level rear wing. As the GT4-class regulation orders, the McLaren 570S GT4 will share the engine and transmission with its road-going version, the 570S. I mean, the 3.8L V8 TT and the 7-speed dual clutch but the total output of 570hp (562 bhp) probably will be reduced.
McLaren’s racing arm, McLaren GT, will enter the car in this year’s British GT Championship and it will make its competitive debut at Brands Hatch over the weekend of 16-17 April.
The McLaren 570S GT4 is also available with a price from £159,900 or $226,338 at today’s exchange rates.
