After the McLaren’s ultimate series, the P1, to gain a very special edition completely covered by carbon fiber, now McLaren presents a model based on the 675LT Spider also covered by the lightweight material.
Called Carbon Series LT and, as you can notice, built by the McLaren’s Special Operations, the car is based on the drop-top McLaren 675LT Spider but most parts of the body are in carbon fiber. The McLaren 675LT Spider MSO Carbon Series has yet air vents above the front wheels like the Ceramic Gray McLaren 675LT Spider One-off edition presented alongside the Carbon P1 at the Geneva Motor Show.
The McLaren 675LT Spider MSO Carbon Series is powered by the good old 3.8-liter twin turbo V8 engine delivering a maximum power of 675PS (666bhp) and 700 NM (516lb ft) of torque. Although the extensive use of carbon fiber, the figures of the Carbon series LT are the same of the 675LT Spider. I mean, it accelerates from 0 to 62 (100km/h) in 2.9 seconds, 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 8.1 seconds while the top speed is 203 mph (326 km/h)
The McLaren 675LT Spider MSO Carbon Series will be limited to just 25 models and they’ve all been sold out. These 25 units will be built separately from those 500 copies of the 675LT coupé and the 500 copies of the Long Tail spider. Unfortunately for those who want to turn their 675s in a carbon beast, according to McLaren, the normal LTs can’t be submitted to the carbon treatment.
Production of the MSO Carbon Series LT begins this autumn with first deliveries expected before the end of 2016.
