The result of the Aston Martin and Red Bull collaboration has been revealed (or almost). The Aston Martin AM-RB 001 hypercar has been revealed at the Aston Martin Headquarters in Gaydon.
As said, the AM-RB 001 is being built by Aston Martin in collaboration with the Red Bull F1 team. The car promises to be the fastest and most powerful Aston Martin ever built and will come limited to “between 99 and 150” road cars and 24 track machines.
The power of the Aston Martin AM-RB 001 comes from a V12 naturally aspirated engine but Aston Martin hasn’t revealed any figures yet. They’re aiming for a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio (1 horsepower to each kilogram) and the weight of the car is expected to be less than one-ton thanks to a lightweight carbon fiber structure, so the power will be likely between 900 hp and 1000 hp.
The first prototype will begin testing next year. The engineering will be handled by Q by Aston Martin Advanced (The Aston’s special project division) and Red Bull Advanced Technologies, with production taking place at Gaydon.
The Aston Martin AM-RB 001 hypercar will reach the owners in 2018 with a price between 2 and 3 million pounds. For those who have previously bought an Aston Martin Special Edition such as the Vulcan or One-77 will get a guaranteed place on the waiting list.
