The Maranello’s guys have revealed the first pictures of their open-top hybrid hypercar. The LaFerrari Spider.
Ferrari didn’t reveal much of its car which will make the official debut at the next Paris Motor Show. Even the official name of the car is being kept in secret but it seems that the car will be called LaFerrari Aperta instead of Spider.
Such as the name, Ferrari won’t unveil the full specification until the Paris Show. The open top version sports the same hybrid powertrain of the coupe with the naturally aspirated V12 engine delivering 800 metric horsepower and an electric motor adding other 163 horses to a total output of 963 (metric) hp.
Ferrari has also said that the car will reach the same performance figures of the coupe. It means a 0-62 sprint in less than 3 seconds and a top speed of over 217 mph (350km/h).
The LaFerrari Spider will be available with a removable carbon fiber hard top and a removable soft top as well.
Ferrari has made significant and extensive modifications to the chassis to maintain the same torsional rigidity and beam stiffness as the coupé. Ferrari has also improved the car’s aerodynamic to guarantee the same drag coefficient.
Although the number of units is unknown so far (the rumors say 70), Ferrari revealed that all available examples have already been sold after a special preview to clients and the order book is closed.
