Meet the new V12 Raging Bull: The Aventador S Coupé
Lamborghini has just released the new V12 variant based on the Aventador, now carrying an S in the name.
The 2017 Lamborghini Aventador S Coupé is a facelift of the 2011 Aventador we’re used to seeing out there and like the bunch of others Aventador variants the new bull gets some design enrichment and a boost in power
With 740hp generated by the V12 engine 6.5-liter naturally aspirated, the new Aventador is 40hp more powerful than the LP700 but yet less powerful than the top notch Aventador SV.
Although an increase in power, the performance of the Aventador S Coupé remains the same as the LP700. This is a 0 to 62 mph acceleration in 2.9 seconds, 0-124 (0-200) in 8.8 seconds, 0-186 (0-300) in 24.2 seconds while it can reach a top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h).
Talking about the design, the Lamborghini Aventador S Coupé has a redesigned front bumper with forms resembling a shark fin, a larger and aggressive front lip as well as new side skirts. At the rear, a redesigned diffuser stands along with new tailpipes. At the rear three-quarters stands the new pair of air intakes borrowed from the Aventador SV.
Despite the new improved heart and the better looking, Lamborghini fitted the S Coupé with a new brain. Called Lamborghini Active Vehicle Dynamics (LDVA), the system can manage each dynamic axles of the vehicle.
The car has a new feature called 4 Wheel Steering, it combines the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering with the new rear-wheel steering system which, as the name says, make possible the rear wheels steer. At low speeds, the rear axle steers in opposite direction with respect to the front axle leading to a greater agility on the corners. At high speed, the two axles rotate in parallel guaranteeing the control of the car and incredible stability.
The new 4 active suspension feature (magneto-rheological front and rear shock absorbers with pushrod system) of the Lamborghini Aventador S Coupé modifies constantly the behavior of the suspensions according to the road conditions and the driving mode selected.
Talking on the drive mode, the Aventador S Coupé gained a new one. Such as the other versions of the Aventador, you can select three driving modes to ride: STRADA, SPORT, and CORSA. But, in the Lamborghini Aventador S Coupé, you can customize each setting with the EGO mode.
The production of the 2017 Lamborghini Aventador S Coupé will start soon with a base price of $421,350.
