McLaren Senna Carbon Theme by MSO Heading to Geneva
At this 2018 Geneva Motor Show, McLaren’s new hypercar will make its public debut. Car enthusiasts from all over the world can see the new McLaren Senna in the metal on GIMS’ stage.
Well, it seems that, in addition to the regular Senna model, car enthusiasts will be able to contemplate a special one entirely in exposed carbon fiber.
The model you can see here is the McLaren Senna Carbon Theme by MSO. It is one of five Sennas featuring a very special theme by McLaren’s Special Operations department.
The Senna Carbon Theme features the body in exposed carbon fiber, which takes almost 1000 hours to produce its 67 parts. It also features Salar Yellow detailing on the sill exteriors, rear wing, and front active aero blades – it takes 250 hours to be done.
Brake calipers are covered in a beautiful Laurel Green.
The colors are inspired by the helmet of Ayrton Senna, the legendary Brazilian racing driver that this McLaren model carries the name, and I think you already know.
MSO also will introduce a new set of wheels for the McLaren Senna at Geneva. The MSO 7-Spoke, Hybrid Carbon Fibre Wheel is a forged aluminum/carbon fiber rim component 10% lighter than the standard one.
The MSO Wheel will be available in either Diamond Cut or Stealth finish (I think the lip will be in exposed carbon fiber in both cases), while you can choose Memphis Red or Vega Blue satin finish to the center lock wheel nuts.
The McLaren Senna Carbon Theme by MSO boasts beneath all that carbon a 4.0-Liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 800 horsepower (789BHP) and 800NM of torque (590LB FT), such as any other Senna.
Limited to just 500 units, the McLaren Senna has a price of £750,000 (over $1 million at current rates) and each unit has a buyer already.
For McLaren Senna Carbon Theme by MSO, you can add a little under £300,000 ($413,000) to the aftermentioned price.
